Faced with the growing number of beneficiaries of the Restos du Cœur in Deux-Sèvres, the association has set up a new service. She travels to isolated villages to ensure the distribution of foodstuffs to the poorest.

In Niort (Deux-Sèvres), there is a kind of itinerant grocery store version Restos du Cœur. Twice a week, the association relocates to rural areas. Today’s stage is the town of Saint-Loup-sur-Thouet (Two Sevres). A way to meet isolated beneficiaries, like Benjamin, a disabled adult. So, every Monday morning, he takes advantage of this operation to get supplies.

Two villages in Deux-Sèvres served

This service comes in addition to the 19 permanent branches of the Restos du Cœur in the departmentAnd makes it possible to accommodate around thirty additional families here. “We see other faces, it’s still interesting. And then also, we still have the feeling of being of service since they cannot move”explains Louisette Daunizeaumanager of the traveling center of Deux-Sèvres. Only two villages in Deux-Sèvres are currently served by this traveling centre, but others could follow. All municipalities need to do is request it.
