PRATIC program: Millions thrown at random for requalification, denounces the PLQ

The government’s inability to communicate the results of its workforce retraining programs has made the Official Opposition jump, believing that in the absence of efficiency measures, the millions spent look somewhat “like wind”.

“The impression that it gives us is that we are making various announcements to give the impression that we are acting, but without concrete results”, denounces Madwa-Nika Cadet, spokesperson for the official opposition in matters of job and work.

Worrying, unacceptable, incongruous: the Liberal MP for Bourassa-Sauvé did not mince words to qualify the affair revealed by Le Journal yesterday.

Remember that many graduates of the Program for requalification and support in information and communications technologies (PRATIC) claim not to find a job several months after their graduation.

The government has invested nearly $250 million to train some 8,000 Quebecers since 2021 in order to quickly integrate areas of activity estimated to be in high demand.

Second case of its kind

Ms. Cadet plague all the more that it is the 2nd case in less than six months.

Last September, Le Journal questioned the ministry responsible for requalification programs – then reporting to Jean Boulet – on another initiative in this area: the Recovery Assistance Program by increasing training (PARAF).

Efficacy measurement data was already missing.

Since the publication of our article yesterday, several participants of the PRATIC program who graduated in graphic design have contacted The newspaper to confirm that they too were struggling to find employment.
