What does she accuse PPDA of? While a journalist at France Televisions, she says she suffered two rapes in the journalist’s office at TF1: one in 1994, the other in 1997. During the first rape, which occurred in the host’s office, she was anorexic. She explained to the police officer that the conversation with the reporter, whom she had come to see for a job interview at LCI, revolved around the issue of eating disorders and PPDA’s daughter, Solenn, who suffered from it at the time and committed suicide in January 1995. “At no time did I consent to this sexual act. […] For an anorexic person, having sex is not a pleasure. I had no desire, no desire, no pleasure. I was disgusted with my body and the bodies of others.“, confides Stéphanie Khayat in Release.
Helene Devynck
Writer and former journalist at LCI, Hélène Devynck (55) claims to have been raped at the home of Patrick Poivre d’Arvor in 1993. According to her Wikipedia page, she was a PPDA assistant from 1991 to 1993. In 1994, she participated in the creation of the continuous news channel LCI, on which she presented the newspapers in the section of Michel Field which precedes the JT. After joining i> Télé in 2009, she co-founded in 2010 with Jérôme Bertin, former presenter on LCI, a communication agency called In & Off.
Her marriage from 2011 to 2020 with Emmanuel Carrère, father of her daughter, also shed light on her. Indeed, the writer regularly quotes Hélène Devynck in her works such as A Russian novel, Limonov, The Kingdom, Other lives than mine and more recently Yoga. The latter was the subject of controversy: The ex-wife of the writer had considered that this one did not respect the contract according to which she was not to appear in his novel. The former couple also adapted Florence Aubenas’ book The Quai de Ouistreham for cinema.
