In the Arctic, several American and European countries are engaged in a fierce battle to benefit from the resources found there. Russia, in full expansion, has its bases closest to the territory of the United States.
The natural and strategic resources of the Arctic are highly coveted. The Russians have symbolically planted their flag there, at the bottom of the ocean. Between them and the Americans, Canadians and Europeans emerged. 8 countries are members of the Arctic Council, and have territorial and maritime rights to the North Pole. In addition to the countries already mentioned, there are Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland. For these countries, the Arctic is a strategic and military issue.
Russian expansion
