To obtain the “Poteries d’Alsace” appellation, the products must necessarily come from two traditional manufacturing techniques. One is associated with the village of Betschdorf (salt sandstone pottery), the second in the village of Soufflenheim (enamel pottery).
A total of 12 companies are affected by this certification. They represent all of the pottery companies in the geographical area concerned, employ around a hundred employees and produce 600,000 pieces per year.
