“potate_tueure” would be a 19-year-old serial sexual assaulter

An alleged serial sexual assaulter aged barely 19 who allegedly attacked young girls, the youngest of whom was only 11 years old, was put out of harm’s way by the Sûreté du Québec police officers.

Samuel Faillant, of Sainte-Brigide-d’Iberville, was arrested last week and appeared on six counts of luring, incitement to sexual contact and sexual assault.

According to our information, the authorities have so far identified two alleged victims. They were only 11 and 12 years old at the time of the events.

The crimes with which the young man is accused occurred during the year 2023.

According to the police, Samuel Faillant established initial contact with his alleged victims on social networks, using the pseudonym “potate_tueure”.

He would then meet them in person and it was in this context that he committed his alleged sexual assaults.

According to authorities, Faillant met young girls in the municipalities of Saint-Jérôme, Saint-Eustache, Joliette and Farnham.

“The investigation tends to demonstrate that the suspect could have caused other victims, in different cities in Quebec,” the Sûreté du Québec said in a press release.

Since several victims have been identified, the management structure for serial crime investigations (GECS), coordinated by the Sûreté du Québec, has been deployed.

Anyone who may have been a victim of Samuel Faillant is invited to contact the Criminal Information Center of the Sûreté du Québec, at 1 800 659-4264.
