Air Canada is finalizing its contingency plans to suspend most operations in the event of a pilot strike. The airline and the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) remain far apart despite ongoing talks.
Unless an agreement is reached, both parties will be able to file a 72-hour notice of strike or lockout as early as September 15.
ALPA represents 5,200 pilots at Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge. Air Canada Express flights will continue, as they are operated by third parties, Jazz and PAL Airlines.
