(Ottawa) Health Canada has issued an advisory to consumers to stop wearing certain Helly Hansen sweaters, hoodies and zippers, due to a possible “flammability hazard”.
The 27 models of the clothes in question are also the subject of a recall.
Nearly 128,700 of the affected items have been sold in Canada since August 2019.
According to Health Canada, these garments “contain brushed cotton that has undergone a specific treatment and do not or may not comply with the Textile Flammability Regulations”.
However, no incidents or injuries have been reported to the company in Canada.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact the company for credit.
Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, it is prohibited to redistribute, sell or even give away the recalled products in Canada.
