Possible drowning in Saint-Anselme: still no trace of the missing

Besides Sumit Shyder’s bike and clothes, found the day of his disappearance near the Chutes-Rouillard park, no other clues were discovered by the authorities.

Five days after the start of the excavations to find the 21-year-old young man, the SQ is not giving up and will continue to deploy resources on the ground.

Several ground patrol officers spent the day on site to scan the shore and the surroundings of the Etchemin River. The provincial police helicopter also took part in the search, as was the case the day before.

“We are analyzing the possibility of sending divers there tomorrow. Again, it will depend on the strength of the current, ”says Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the SQ.

Remember that Sumit Shyder, a Ukrainian living in the region since July 8, was swept away by the current last Wednesday while bathing in the river after a hot summer day.

The Rouillard Falls sector contains many pools that are currently difficult to access due to the eddies and the powerful current caused by the rain of the last few days.
