(Willow Springs, California) Another New Taycan! Six months ago the Cross Turismo landed, which itself followed quite closely the Taycan sedan. This time, the last rain model is called Sport Turismo GTS, an ancestral name designating the most “homogeneous” Porsches. Not the most powerful or the most expensive, but the most balanced.

Range
This abundance of goods illustrates the constraint faced by builders. To sell the same number of cars, they now need to offer an ever wider range of products. Porsche is a past master in this exercise. To be convinced, the 911 range has as many variations as Ford’s F Series pickup truck.
So originally the Taycan was a model; it is now a full range. With the Sport Turismo GTS, the electric family of Porsche will welcome in a few months a third element and yet another variation.
Presented as a world premiere at the last Los Angeles show, the Taycan Sport Turismo takes on the aesthetic codes of the Cross Turismo without the off-road appendages and increased ground clearance. This body with original shapes has several advantages over that of the sedan which does not particularly shine in terms of volume / size ratio. The Sport Turismo offers greater headroom and a more spacious boot.
In addition to the trim, monograms and other trimmings that make the salt of the GTS versions (it will also be offered on the sedan), note the presence of a panoramic roof. This has a liquid crystal film that filters the sun’s rays into the passenger compartment.
Sport
Technically, the GTS is neither the most powerful nor the fastest (0-100 km / h in 3.7 s), but certainly the sportiest. And one of the most effective too, being the first beneficiary (all Taycan will be entitled to it) of an update of its components to increase its autonomy. This slightly exceeds 400 km.
To add a little spice to the drive, the GTS benefits from a complete (and exclusive) reprogramming of its adaptive air suspensions to accentuate its sporty character. To fully appreciate the difference and capture the intricacies, it’s important to select Sport or Sport + modes, however. In doing so, one immediately notices the dryness of the suspensory elements. The car sticks to the road and fits into the bends as if it were resting on rails.
Some will find the steering a little heavy or will feel the monolithic character of this car weighing some 2,800 kg. Never mind, it monkey admirably well – thanks to the electronics – the performance associated with only sports powered by a heat engine.
