By 2050, half of the French population will be affected by allergies according to the WHO. Allergies already affect nearly one in three people in the world. Air quality, exposure to chemicals, food allergies: this multiplication of affected people can be explained by different factors. So, why are allergies taking on epidemic proportions and above all how to fight against this phenomenon?

Global warming and allergies
We can define an allergy as an inappropriate reaction of our immune system to elements naturally present in our environment. Dust mites, pollen, pet hair: when faced with an allergy, our immune system overreacts, which can lead to various symptoms (irritation, tears, itching or obstruction of the respiratory tract).
However, as our environment evolves and changes, some allergies are spreading like pollen allergies. Indeed, global warming and the increase in CO2 concentrations favor the growth of plants and trees. Also, this has the effect of extending the pollination period and increasing the amount of pollen in the air.
