Emmanuel Macron is traveling in the Pyrenees, Thursday July 6. He will attend part of the Tour de France stage, after meeting elected officials in Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). Live from the city, journalist Anne Bourse indicates that the Head of State wants to show that the riot crisis is over.
The President of the Republic is traveling to the Pyrenees on Thursday July 6. “Emmanuel Macron resumes his agenda. Last week, he returned early from the European Council. The planned state visit to Germany had been canceled altogether. On Wednesday, scheduled announcements on green planning were postponed”recalls journalist Anne Bourse, live from Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). She specifies that the only trip to the field of the Head of State took place on Monday evening “to support the police in Paris”.
“Show that the crisis is over”
“Coming here is therefore a way of showing that the crisis is over. Certainly, he will talk about it [dans la matinée] with François Bayrou, the mayor of Pau and support of the Head of State. Then again, as he did on Tuesday at the Élysée, Emmanuel Macron will discuss with all elected officials from the agglomeration of Pau. Some areas of the city have been affected by the violence. Then, this afternoon, the president will treat himself to a break in a region that is dear to him. It will follow part of the Tour de France stage”continues the journalist. “A beautiful image which, for the Élysée, marks the sign of a return to calm”concludes Anne Bourse.
