Within the executive, Emmanuel Macron declared on Twitter to share “the pain of the family, relatives and colleagues of Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff”.“To those who carry out the difficult mission of informing in theaters of operations, I would like to reiterate France’s unconditional support”he assured.
Journalist, Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff was in Ukraine to show the reality of the war. On board a humanitarian bus, alongside civilians forced to flee to escape Russian bombs, he was fatally shot.

“Informing should not cost any life”abounded the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, on Twitter. Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, traveling to kyiv, demanded “that a transparent investigation be undertaken as soon as possible to shed full light on the circumstances of this tragedy”. Richard Ferrand, LREM President of the National Assembly, for his part presented “his sincere condolences” to his family and colleagues “in the name of the National Assembly”.
On the left, theformer President of the Republic François Hollande, expressed on Twitter his “thoughts to his family, loved ones and colleagues”. The leader of La France Insoumise, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, estimated that “those who kill civilians and journalists will have to answer for it”. “He was in Ukraine to exercise his profession: to inform us.
