Suspected of spying for the Russians, Lieutenant General Jaroslaw Gromadzinski was dismissed from his post on Wednesday March 27. He took charge of the Eurocorps last June during a ceremony in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin), which houses the headquarters of this European army. The latter brings together six countries (France, Spain, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany and Poland) and more than a thousand soldiers. Jaroslaw Gromadzinski has just been replaced by another Polish general.

A wheat agreement between Poland and Ukraine

On the agricultural level, Poland has reached an agreement on wheat with Ukraine. Polish farmers had blocked the border for several weeks, angry at the massive arrival of cheaper grain from Ukraine, Belarus and Russia. “A 50% customs duty on Russian and Belarusian agricultural products will allow us to block these exports”, declared Donald Tusk, the Polish Prime Minister. The end of a quarrel which had annoyed Poland, one of Ukraine’s main supporters.
