Policewoman injured by fireworks mortar fire in Pessac during New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve and night were again the subject of isolated acts of violence in Gironde. In Pessac, a policewoman was injured Friday, December 31 in the evening, after being ambushed with her colleagues. About fifteen people waited for them and then fired fireworks mortars in their direction.

The policewoman was shot in the feet with a mortar and was burnt legs. She did not have to be hospitalized. According to our colleagues from South West, a 16 year old teenager was arrested on site. Four other young people were arrested during the night, for other acts of violence in Gironde. Following their police custody, they were released for the duration of the investigations.
