An experienced police officer from the L’Assomption Saint-Sulpice Police Department is accused of offences related to child pornography.
Alexandre Lacombe, 40, appeared at the Joliette courthouse on Wednesday. He is accused of accessing child pornography between June 2023 and May 2024 and of being in possession of such material on September 11. These are charges filed as a criminal act, which implies a certain objective seriousness.
The Sûreté du Québec led the investigation.
Alexandre Lacombe has been released from custody. Among his conditions, he will be prohibited from possessing firearms and being in the presence of minors. He will also not be able to use the internet to view pornography.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Alexandre Lacombe has been a police officer since 2012. The L’Assomption Saint-Sulpice Police Department did not call back The Press Thursday afternoon.
