The Independent Investigations Bureau (BEI) will look into this intervention which took place on Cartier Street in Quebec City. It resulted in the hospitalization of a citizen.

Details on this case are slim. It had not been publicized until then and no image seems to circulate. According to the BEI, a man called the police because he said he feared for his safety.

A police officer arrived on the scene found himself “involved in a physical altercation with the man in question”. The 50-year-old citizen was seriously injured and taken to hospital.

According to our information, the police officer involved in this altercation is not the one targeted by two other investigations announced on Monday. He would not be part of the GRIPP squad either.

The BEI is in fact interested in an intervention on the Grande-Allée and another at the District Saint-Joseph bar.
