A cow who was a little too excited about exploring Edmonton led many police officers and firefighters to play cowboy for a day in an attempt to bring her back home.
Several videos posted online Tuesday afternoon show the runaway, a young cow with a caramel-brown coat who was to participate in an agricultural fair at the Edmonton Expo Center, running wildly through the streets of a residential neighborhood, a few not from a school.
One of the videos, filmed from a house, shows the poor creature taking refuge on the grounds of a house, where it is surrounded by several passers-by and police officers. However, after a brief lull, the freedom-loving cow sets off again, forcing her pursuers to start chasing her again.
Other images taken from other angles show the animal taking impressive sprints through the streets.
Edmonton police told local media they were notified around 11:30 a.m. that a cow had escaped onto the agricultural fair site. However, she was not caught before 4 p.m., where she was able to be tranquilized by a veterinarian, then returned to her owner.
