The police custody of the director of Sciences Po Paris Mathias Vicherat and his partner, who mutually accused each other of domestic violence on Sunday December 3, were lifted in the afternoon of Monday December 4, franceinfo learned from the public prosecutor’s office in Paris. No injuries requiring temporary interruption of work (ITT) were noted on either of them. Furthermore, neither of them filed a complaint. On the other hand, a preliminary investigation for “domestic violence” was opened.
According to a source close to the case, the two people separately presented themselves at the 7th arrondissement police station on Sunday to report violence, after arguing in the street. According to Mathias Vicherat’s partner, there have already been precedents.
Mathias Vicherat, 45, was appointed director of Sciences Po in November 2021, replacing Frédéric Mion, who resigned following the Olivier Duhamel affair. Former sub-prefect, then chief of staff of the mayors of Paris Bertrand Delanoë and Anne Hidalgo, he was then deputy general director of the SNCF group. He was responsible for the corporate communications project and spokesperson and then general secretary of Danone. He is the father of two children, including one with his former partner, Marie Drucker.
