The police custody of three people was lifted on Tuesday, August 6, announced the prosecutor of Grenoble (Isère), Éric Vaillant. These three people were victims of gunfire on Sunday, in the Teisseire district of Grenoble. Their police custody had been extended on Monday. These shots left one dead and two injured.

The prosecution told France Bleu Isère that it wanted to clarify matters with them. “what appears to be an ambush”The prosecution also announced that it would refer the matter to an investigating judge to open a judicial investigation into murder and attempted murder.

The incident took place around 8pm on Sunday. The main suspect in the shooting, who was riding an electric scooter, fled and has still not been arrested. A man shot several times at a group of four people: one of them escaped unharmed, the other three were injured by bullets. One of the targeted people died after being transported to Grenoble University Hospital; he was 47 years old. The two injured people are 24 years old. It was the latter and the man who survived the shooting who had their police custody extended on Monday.
