The tests for the police commissioner competition by the professional access route have been canceled, according to a decree published on Saturday May 14 in the Official Journal. In question: suspicions of cheating between a candidate and the president of the jury, the senior civil servant Frédéric Dupuch. “Registrations registered between September 1, 2021 and November 5, 2021 are declared null and void”as “the results obtained in the various tests of this recruitment”it is specified in the decree.

Candidates for the new recruitment session will be able to submit their application from Sunday until June 15. The written tests are scheduled for July 5 and the oral from September 2.

Investigators suspect the candidate, a commanding officer, of having “benefited from information” on the tests, transmitted by Inspector General Frédéric Dupuch, currently in post in the office of the Director General of the National Police (DGPN), Frédéric Veaux.

The senior official and the commander, stationed in the legal department of the DGPN, were both suspended and searches took place in the premises, said the Paris prosecutor’s office. The General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) is in charge of the investigation, which was opened on May 6 to “fraud in an examination or competition and complicity in this offence”said the prosecution.

This investigation should determine “the scale of the fraud”specified a police source, adding that at this stage, the hypothesis of a “individual fraud” is privileged.
