In San Francisco (United States), police officers on patrol wanted to stop a car. But there was neither driver nor passenger in the vehicle.

On the surface, the scene, which took place in early April, might seem trivial. In the streets of Francisco (United States), a police officer walks towards the driver’s window of a vehicle driving with all lights off. Except there was no one inside. The policeman, surprised, tries to open the door of this car, without success. He turns around, when suddenly, the autonomous car starts again. Alone, she crosses the intersection after the light turns green, and parks a little further along the sidewalk.

The funny scene continues. The police officers catch up with the now stationary car. Cautious, they hover around her. Under the laughter of passers-by, they try again, several times, to open the doors, helpless against this driverless vehicle against which they can do nothing. Over the past few days, the video has gone viral on social media. To justify itself, the American company that operates this autonomous vehicle claims that the latter reacted as expected, and never sought to flee the police. The company also specifies that no minutes were drawn up.
