The organization headed by the actor will transmit to the town hall its practical know-how acquired during similar actions and will open an office there, reported the Polish agency PAP.
Its program includes educational activities, the organization of workshops and the financing of renovation work on unoccupied premises to accommodate around fifty refugees.
Sean Penn was in Kyiv at the end of February, when the Russian invasion broke out, to shoot a documentary on the situation in Ukraine, according to reports published by the Ukrainian presidency on social media.
He had already visited Ukraine in November and had met with soldiers.
The 61-year-old actor won two Oscars — for Milk and Mystic River — is shooting a documentary for Vice Studios, according to NBC News.
