(Pointe-Claire) A man was seriously injured Friday morning after he lost control of the car he was driving before making a violent swerve, in the west of the island of Montreal.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) reports that when help arrived, the man was unconscious and trapped in his damaged car. It was firefighters from the Montreal Fire Safety Service (SIM) who freed him, which allowed him to be transported to the hospital.
At the start of the morning, the SPVM still did not know in what state of health the man was. He was alone in his vehicle.
According to what witnesses reported, the car was traveling south on boulevard des Sources, in Pointe-Claire, around 4 a.m. After losing control, the car reportedly hit a concrete wall and a lamp post before rolling over near the Donegani Avenue intersection.
The age of the accident victim was not yet known at daybreak.
A security perimeter has been erected in the area so that the police officers of the collision investigation module can more accurately establish the circumstances of the incident.
