On the night of Thursday to Friday, around midnight, a 25-year-old woman was shot while she was on Maurice-Duplessis Boulevard, near 27e Avenue, in Rivière-des-Prairies. The patrol officers located a suspicious vehicle and a large police operation was immediately initiated. Several suspects inside the car fled on foot.

The police presence Friday morning extends over a large quadrilateral between Metropolitan Boulevard, Marien Avenue, Henri-Bourassa Boulevard and Broadway Avenue, in the Pointe-aux-Trembles sector.

“For security reasons, people are asked to avoid the area,” said Agent Véronique Comtois, spokesperson for the SPVM.

More details to come.
