PODCAST. American campuses mobilize for Palestine, human rights in danger and Vieilles Charrues threatened

This Wednesday, April 24, pro-Palestinian anger is spreading on several university campuses in the United States, human rights are in danger around the world according to Amnesty International and the Vieilles Charrues festival could disappear according to its organizers.

“Hi it’s Leo, what does it say?”

This Wednesday, April 24, hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators remained mobilized in support of American students who are calling for an end to the war in Gaza. 120 of them were arrested on the night of Monday to Tuesday at Columbia University in New York. Other campuses are also mobilizing in the United States.

In its annual report on the human rights situation in the world, Amnesty International denounces this Wednesday the “excessive restrictions” on the right to demonstrate in France in 2023. The NGO is also concerned about an increase in “hate speech by more and more uninhibited.

And then, will the Vieilles Charrues festival have its 34th and final edition this year? The organizers are calling on local elected officials to save their event after receiving a “surprise” bill of 367,000 euros from the town hall of Carhaix (Finistère).
