Juraj Slafkovsky is on a streak of eight consecutive games with at least one point, the eighth best streak in history for a player under 20 in the NHL, but which does not come close to the all-time record… for the moment.

The mark belongs to Patrik Laine who, at the age of 19, had scored at least one point in 15 consecutive games, between February 16 and March 18, 2018. Even the great Wayne Gretzky had not done better at 18 and 19 years old, seeing his best streak of its kind stop at 12 games despite the fact that he had concluded the 1979-1980 season with a total of 137 points in 70 games.
To return to Slafkovsky, on February 16, he became the first player under 20 in Canadian history to collect at least one point in seven consecutive games. Laine’s mark is still achievable, but Slafkovsky will not have to reduce the pace since the Canadian has 17 games remaining before the imposing Canadian winger celebrates his 20th birthday on March 30.
