An injured man was found in his home in the Plateau-Mont-Royal sector on Tuesday morning. Police arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the case shortly after the incident.
The agents of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) arrived on site around 5 a.m. In a building located at the corner of rue Hutchison and avenue Des Pins, they find a man on the ground. The body of the victim bears several traces of violence “in the upper body”, according to Véronique Comtois, spokesperson for the police force.
The 41-year-old man is still hospitalized in critical condition.
A suspect was arrested during the morning and is to be questioned by investigators. His involvement in this issue is unknown for the moment.
The SPVM did not specify the link between the injured and the arrested man.
According to our information, a fight could have broken out between the two men. The victim was not injured by bullets or stab wounds.
The scene is still protected. Investigators are to meet with witnesses and view footage from surveillance cameras to shed light on the circumstances of this sad case.
