(Montreal) A sexagenarian died after being trapped under his car on Saturday in the Plateau-Mont-Royal, in circumstances that are still unclear according to information from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

The reason why the man, aged around 65, found himself under his vehicle at around 10.30am on Saturday morning remains unknown. According to witnesses at the scene, the man’s car would then have started moving and would have crushed him, thus making him a prisoner under the automobile.
Once again, the reason explaining why the vehicle started to roll is not known to the SPVM.
Passers-by, then possibly SPVM police, tried to pull the man, but a jack had to be used to lift the car in order to free him.
When the police managed to get the 60-year-old out of under his vehicle, they began resuscitation maneuvers. The man in critical condition was then transported to a hospital center, where he was pronounced dead by medical authorities.
A crime scene was erected where the tragedy took place, near the Laurier and Mentana intersection in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough.
SPVM collision investigators went to the scene to shed light on this incident.
