Although three years have passed since the publication of its previous edition, Grove had not fallen into oblivion among his admirers. A sixth number, devoted to memory, has just been published. With great aesthetics, the horticultural magazine offers an ever so unusual and poetic stroll through the world of plants.
Full of color, in the format of a book with German binding, this publication is “arguably the most ambitious and unique of all editions of Grove with 35 collaborators and 188 pages ”, specify its directors Édith Morin and Sarah Lacombe, respectively graphic designer and horticulturalist.
Authors, visual artists and horticulturalists have contributed to the development of this issue which explores botanical memory, memories and nostalgia. It includes the pastel drawings by artist Amanda Craig, an introduction to tataki-zomé, an ancient Japanese technique of printing flowers on fabrics, a treatise on the intelligence of plants, photo reports, poems and stories.
Self-published for seven years at the whim of the wind, Grove is offered in Montreal (Le port de tête, Canadian Center for Architecture, Atelier 10, Livart and café Dans l’Espace), at the Point de suspension bookstore in Saguenay, at the Espace L’Abri in Morin-Heights and in line, at a cost of $ 22.
