Plans for the weekend | To celebrate Mother’s Day

We are celebrating Mother’s Day this weekend. If you want to please mom by offering her an outing, here are some suggestions from our journalists.

Cook your city on the Place des Festivals

For the second consecutive week, the Place des Festivals vibrates to the rhythm of the fourth edition of the Cuisine ta ville event. The festival, which, through art, wishes to lift the veil on the issues of migration and cultural integration, offers a host of free activities until Sunday. Open-air exhibition, dance classes, film screenings, musical performances, plays, Aboriginal language classes and conferences are part of the very varied program. Not to mention the popular “kitchen parties” during which guests prepare a traditional dish from their country of origin.

The staging is provided by Hugo Bélanger, who also signs the text. “Hugo Bélanger offers here an exploded, playful and very colorful universe. A show that will appeal to a wide audience. Designer Marie Chantale Vaillancourt has created several very beautiful and colorful costumes. The magnificent decor by Jonas Veroff Bouchard is enhanced by the beautiful lighting by Luc Prairie. Remarkable work in a production which, without reinventing the wheel, solicits our capacity for wonder and our child’s heart,” journalist Luc Boulanger tells us in his review published on May 5.

At the movie theater : Guardians of the Galaxy vol.3 And stop with your lies

The third part of Guardians of the Galaxy is James Gunn’s farewell to Marvel Studios, as he has joined DC Studios. Chris Pratt (Peter Quill) Zoe Saldaña (Gamora) Dave Bautista (Drax) Pom Klementieff (Mantis) Bradley Cooper (Rocket) Karen Gillan (Nebula) and Vin Diesel (Groot) return to service, when they have to face The High Evolutionary , played by Chukwudi Iwuji. “For his swan song, the filmmaker therefore had fun. He invited all gang of the Guardians, which grew from film to film, and invited old and new pals to the party. Despite the size of the cast, each character has the opportunity to shine,” mentions journalist Pascal LeBlanc in his review published on May 2.

stop your lies is the film adaptation of Philippe Besson’s book. Stéphane Belcourt (Guillaume de Tonquédec) returns to the provincial town where he grew up to sponsor the bicentenary of a cognac. There he will meet Lucas (Victor Belmondo), son of his childhood sweetheart, who will awaken painful memories in the writer. “Victor Belmondo, grandson of Jean-Paul Belmondo, is a real revelation in this film where he is excellent, just like Guillaume de Tonquédec, in the role of the writer. The latter also looks a lot like Philippe Besson. We feel the complicity of these two actors in this sensitive and moving film, ”says Olivia Lévy in her review published on May 5.
