Research was underway on Sunday April 3 to find a passenger plane that had disappeared at sea the day before between France and England, with two people on board. The plane, type P28, left Saturday from Wellesbourne (United Kingdom) to the French seaside resort of Le Touquet (Pas-de-Calais), according to the maritime prefecture.

The machine registered in the United Kingdom was flying with five other passenger planes as part of a joint outing, said the prefecture of Pas-de-Calais. Its last known position was in the middle of the English Channel, 25 miles (45 km) off Dungeness, in the extreme south-east of England, the British coastguard said in a press release.

Significant French and British research resources were deployed on Saturday. In vain. On Sunday, the search resumed with a French helicopter and the rescue boat Bee Languedoc, chartered by the French Navy, as well as a British Coast Guard aircraft. The many commercial ships circulating in the area have been contacted, but no debris has been found for the moment, nor any testimony on the fall of the plane, said the maritime prefecture to AFP.
