(Pittsburgh) The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without linebacker TJ Watt in Los Angeles against the Chargers on Sunday night.
Watt was out of training for a third straight day on Friday.
He injured his hip and knee last Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
The Steelers will also have to contend with the absence of cornerback Joe Haden (foot) and left-side starting guard Kevin Dotson (ankle).
Watt is second in the NFL with 12 and a half sacks from the quarterback.
Pittsburgh are five games unbeaten, which took the club’s record to 5-3-1.
Canadian Claypool returns
Canadian wide-end Chase Claypool will return, having recovered from a toe injury suffered Nov. 8 against the Chicago Bears.
It is not yet known whether Ben Roethlisberger will be able to play (COVID-19 protocol), but a decision is expected on Saturday.
If he could not put on the uniform, the starting quarterback would be Mason Rudolph, who would then start a second game in a row.
The Chargers (5-4) have escaped their last two home games.
