The filmmaker Edouard Deluc claims to be a new French comedy far from the usual jokes. Petaoushnok takes off in the Pyrenees, on horseback in a crazy ride that turns into the absurd. Ludo (Pio Marmaï) and Richard (Philippe Rebbot), unemployed, set up a horseback ride for tourists in the Pyrenees, they are new to the subject. It is Ludo who leads the group, and Richard does not only have good ideas. Couples, children and singles embark on a journey that turns into incredible adventures.
Petaoushnok is first and foremost an original and eccentric comedy in the majestic setting of the Pyrenees. We think of Hikersbut also to Hara-kiri and the Monty Pythons for the burlesque side. The dialogues surf on double meanings and consonances, evoking Raymond Devos.
The repertoire is perfectly suited to the trio that leads the way: Pio Marmaï, Philippe Rebbot and Camille Chamoux. A real team spirit animates them, with Edouard Deluc as conductor. His road movie on horseback is punctuated by ubiquitous situations that transform the bucolic ride into an obstacle course. A booking error at the refuge-restaurant derails the situation to absurdity.
Petaoushnok mocks our shortcomings with mischief. Impossible not to identify with the characters of this choral comedy with a furious rhythm.
