Pink wows 16,000 fans gathered at the Bell Center for her “Trustfall” tour

Aerial acrobatics, a host of hits, energy and attitude in spades. Singer Pink spared no effort to impress the eyes and ears, taming the Bell Center for the first of two Montreal concerts of her tour Trustfalllast night.

Pink didn’t waste a single second before setting the tone for the evening; it was in an oversized mouth suspended above the stage that she made her entrance, jumping into the void to twirl according to the elastic cables holding her. The title Get the Party Started could not have been better chosen to open the ball, the singer inviting her fans to a real and grandiose party where anything goes.

And we expected no less from her.

Sparkling from head to toe, the American lived up to her reputation as a stage beast by revisiting the hits on which she has built her empire for nearly 25 years. Of Raise Your Glass has So WhatPassing by Don’t Let Me Get Me, Blow Me (One Last Kiss), What About Us and others TryPink demonstrated the full extent of her repertoire and her talent while multiplying the backlashing visual excesses.

Impressive ease

And she shows the same ease when the time comes to sit behind the piano to revisit Make You Feel My Love than to fly over the floor for the time of Turbulence or even play the rockstars by borrowing Heartbreaker to Pat Benatar.

We know that some artists use these tricks to throw smoke and mirrors and compensate for certain shortcomings, often vocal. But not Pink. Because beyond the pirouettes, pyrotechnic effects and other circus arts, she is capable of flights that are as spectacular as they are perfectly well mastered. She has demonstrated this on many occasions, putting aside excesses to push the note on Who Knew, Just Like a Pill, Please Don’t Leave Me or Lost Cause.

In short, she is a complete artist, at the top of her art, who blew away 16,000 noisy, enthusiastic and ultimately satisfied fans. Because we come away from a Pink concert out of breath, amazed and above all amazed by the imposing machine that she masterfully controls during her two hours on stage.

  • Pink will return to the Bell Center stage this evening.
