Piknic Électronik had a record season

After two years of slowdown caused by health measures, Piknic Électronik was able to welcome visitors at full capacity in 2022. Festival-goers took full advantage of this: the event welcomed a total of 178,000 visitors this season – a record close to 20 years of existence.

In 2019, the pre-pandemic year, some 160,000 festival-goers showed up at the Parc Jean-Drapeau site in Montreal. In 2020, due to the pandemic, the organizers were unable to accommodate anyone on the site, and in 2021, the reception capacity was limited.

The 2022 season of Piknic Électronik, which took place from May 22 to October 9, was divided into 35 events – 20 regular Piknic and 15 “off Piknic”. Electronic music fans were able to hear the Americans Octave One and Claude Vonstroke, the Quebecers TDJ, High Klassified, Mistress Barbara and the Montreal collective Slut Island, the Australian Mall Grab and the British Maya Jane Coles.

The Petit Piknic meetings, intended for families, were also back in force this year.
