This is our first time at Binerie Mont-Royal. The shepherd’s pie, dumpling stew, pie, meatloaf and black pudding on the menu give us the impression of a traditional Christmas dinner. Let’s say that contrasts with the 30 degrees Celsius felt… Fortunately, the establishment on rue Saint-Denis is air-conditioned.

Originally from New York, Tim Moroney migrated to Quebec City around fifteen years ago. He went through establishments like Légende and Chez Boulay before launching into the void with Alentours, which notably made it to the top 10 best new restaurants in Canada in 2023.

Restaurant Alentours lives up to its name, because its chef-owner and his small team have set themselves a challenge: only source their food within a 150 km radius of the restaurant located in the Saint-Sauveur district of Quebec.
