Pierrefonds: two suspects, including a teenager, arrested for arms trafficking

A vast police operation that took place Thursday in Pierrefonds resulted in the arrest of two individuals in connection with trafficking and the manufacture of firearms.

The operation is carried out jointly by the Sûreté du Québec, the Montreal Police Service, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Canada Border Services Agency via the Integrated Team to Fight Arms Trafficking (EILTA ). At the time of this writing, teams were still on the ground in order to complete the searches.

“The items that will be seized [au terme de l’opération] could help demonstrate the suspects’ involvement in criminal activities, they would print firearms using an electronic printer and then sell them,” EILTA said in a statement.

Two suspects, including a minor, have been arrested and are expected to appear in Montreal on arms trafficking charges.
