Pierrefonds-Roxboro | 54-year-old man known to police shot and injured

(Montreal) A 54-year-old man was shot on Thursday while he was in the portico of an apartment building located on Duff Street in the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro, Montreal.

According to information from a spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Raphaël Bergeron, “the suspect, whose description remains unknown as we speak, fled on foot”.

The man shot “possibly in the lower body” was transported to a hospital center and according to information from the SPVM, “he was conscious and breathing at the time of his transport”. Sergeant Bergeron added that the man is known to the police, but “not necessarily in terms of firearms”.

“There are very few indications (to explain) why the latter would have been the target of such an attack,” said Sergeant Bergeron.

Investigators are on site to determine the exact causes and circumstances surrounding this firearm attack on Montreal territory.
