(Montreal) A commercial establishment in northwest Montreal was the target of an arson attack early Monday morning.
The damage caused by the fire is not significant and there were no injuries, according to what reports the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
Around midnight, a citizen alerted police officers on patrol from the SPVM that he had just seen flames inside the establishment located on boulevard Saint-Charles, near the intersection of boulevard Pierrefonds.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found that the front window had been smashed and the fire was raging inside. They therefore called the firefighters of the Montreal Fire Department (SSIM).
They arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire.
While inspecting the interior of the establishment, they found an incendiary object. They therefore forwarded the investigation to the SPVM arson squad.
At the end of the night, no arrest had yet been announced.
