You mentioned on Instagram the fact that Pierre Palmade was close to your late husband, Ludovic Chancel. What were their ties? And how did they meet?
At the time when Ludo met Pierre Palmade, he was going through a descent into hell… When you’re bad, you go to bad, that is to say, you go where you shouldn’t. Ludo had therefore come across Pierre Palmade one evening at the Banana Café. The only ties they had were partying and coke, nothing else. That’s what got Ludo in a lot of trouble. As for Sheila, she really didn’t condone this ‘friendship’. A friendship that turned into a nightmare. Indeed, Pierre publicized this relationship, which did not please either Sheila or Ludo. And there was a money story. There was an apartment in the Halles district that Ludo exchanged with him and like all people with strong addictions, Pierre had major anxiety attacks. However, I was not a competitor because I am a woman, so the choice was quickly made. It was me and nobody else for the simple and good reason that Ludo was not gay! This friendship was unhealthy!
Have you yourself known and rubbed shoulders with Pierre Palmade, what do you remember? Did he tell you about his addictions?
I’m not the type to meet these kind of people! I had a lot to do with Ludo, namely saving him from all his demons. Our love was stronger than anything. Know that drug addicts have no friends, their best friends and enemies are just drug dealers! Pierre has had his addictions for a long time, it’s no secret. It’s sad, because having such addictions is a serious disease that is difficult to get rid of. You absolutely need medical and drug help in order to try to heal yourself, in my opinion.
I hope that no artist will evoke the ‘we all told him… we told him that we had to stop coke…’ Stop this kind of morality! Personally, I didn’t lecture Ludo, I took my courage on my own and we fought the fight together without the help of friends, without the help of anyone!
In the aftermath of the dreadful accident, a six-year-old boy and a pregnant woman in a coma, the baby she was carrying died, a man between life and death after five operations… how do you view this news?
I am very angry. This accident should never have happened! Ok it’s terrible for Pierre, but today, I’m not crying for him, but for this little boy, for the pregnant woman and this poor man in a coma who have nothing asked and honestly they are the ones who should be publicized! It is for them that we must pray. Pierre, it was his choice to take the car under the influence of narcotics! Partying ok, but please never drive if you’re drunk or stoned. It is suicidal for oneself and murderous for others. A selfish act that I condemn this act!
You told us you wanted to send a message to the artists after this tragedy, what is it?
I hope that certain artists will have the delicacy not to feel sorry for Pierre’s fate. I just hope that the artists will have compassion for the injured people.
I love the artist that is Pierre Palmade, he has a lot of talent, but there… I’m delighted he’s alive. But justice be done for this little deceased, for this mother and this man who are between life and death. And that Pierre gets treatment for his addictions even if it’s his problem and not ours!
