Remember that Pierre Hermé is one of the historical jurors of the program The Best Pastry Chef, being present since the very first season. This year, his role has evolved somewhat. Indeed, each week, he will decide between the two worst duos of the adventure at the end of a final test of an hour and a half. In addition, only one member of the duos will have the opportunity to prove himself in front of him.
“We have evolved the mechanics to bring a more professional dramaturgy. Being judged by Pierre Hermé added a layer of pressure. They are not there to destroy themselves but they are in competition with themselves“, explained Jérémie Atlan, director of entertainment at BBC Studios. What’s more, Pierre Hermé will offer the opportunity to work with him to the winning duo of the season. Together, they will create a cake which will be on sale in several of its shops the day after the final.
