The new season of Best Pastry Chef – The Professionals resumes service this Thursday, June 23 on M6. Presented by Marie Portolano, pregnant with her second child, the show welcomes fourteen new candidates, who will be judged by the experienced Cyril Lignac and the recue Christelle Brua, pastry chef at the Élysée. Without forgetting the presence of the indefatigable Pierre Hermé.
The latter, who won the hearts of the French thanks to his delicious pastries, has been in a relationship for many years with a certain Valérie Franceschi. Crazy in love with each other, they said “yes” in July 2017 in Corsica in a 5-star hotel in front of their prestigious guests like Julie Andrieu, Christophe Michalak or Hélène Darroze.
I was not free
Two years earlier in 2015, the pastry chef, who lost 27 kilos in six months, had declared his love for his sweetheart during an interview with the magazine Paris Match. “Valérie is the woman of my life! I would never have believed that such a beautiful and strong love story could happen to me at my age“, he enthused.
“The love at first sight was immediate and mutual“, he had declared, while admitting to having felt “an electric shock” when shaking hands with him for the first time. Small problem: the one we call the king of the macaroon was already taken when they met. But his love for her was so strong that he asked her to wait for him a little while he got organized. “Three months: Time to put my life in order, because I was not free…“, he admitted.
Valérie, at the time a professor of social sciences, had done the same since she was not free either. “In three months, I left Corsica, my husband and my job“, she said. Since then, the two lovebirds have settled together and then united by marriage. The couple, who are still swimming in full happiness, were seen last May sharing a moment of complicity at Roland-Garros A 2020 edition that attracted many celebrities.
