Pierre Alessandri, sentenced to life imprisonment for the assassination of prefect Claude Érignac on February 6, 1998, is now placed on an electronic bracelet and can return to live at his home, in Cargèse, in Corsica. The decision was taken by the sentence enforcement court on October 20, France Bleu RCFM learned.

A decision that will allow him “to move slowly towards conditional release from February 2024”, explains his lawyer, Me Eric Barbolosi. The latter specifies the conditions of this release under supervision: “times to respect, not contacting people who have been sentenced alongside him and places not to go like Ajaccio or Pietrosella”.

Pierre Alessandri, aged 65, was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2003 for having been part of the Commando Érignac. Incarcerated in Poissy in Yvelines, he was transferred to Borgo prison, in Corsica, in April 2022, before benefiting from a semi-release regime in March 2023.
