In the heart of the Langhe, in Piedmont (Italy), magnificent hills are classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for their beauty and the ancestral culture of the vine that is perpetuated there. These wine-growing lands seduced Dominik Weigand, a German who fell in love with the region while coming to do the grape harvest. “The lifestyle here is different. In Germany, there is more pressure on work, you have to drive a big car and earn a lot of money. Here, we work a lot, but the most important thing is to have an aperitif with friends and eat and drink well.”he testifies.
Today, Dominik is a winemaker and owns one hectare in Piedmont. The land is sloping, calcareous and clayey. These characteristics have allowed the noblest grape variety in Italy to flourish. Nebbiolo is a grape variety that will give birth to a very prestigious red wine: Barolo. It is nicknamed the “king of wines” for its full-bodied and powerful taste. And for those who want to immerse themselves in the countryside, horseback rides are organized by Lisa and Lukas at the San Bravo equestrian center.
