More than a month after the fatal crash on August 23 of Evgeni Prigojine’s private jet, the investigation has produced first results in Russia. The Russian president said this on Thursday October 5: “DGrenade fragments were found in the bodies of victims of the air disaster.. Vladimir Putin also clarified, on the sidelines of the Valdai international forum, that he “there was no external impact on the plane” before the crash.
The Russian president based himself on a report given to him “a few days ago” by the head of the Investigative Committee. Yevgeny Prigozhin, the boss of the Wagner paramilitary group, died in the crash of his plane, which was transporting him from Moscow to Saint Petersburg, with some of his relatives. Ten people died in this crash.
The investigators did not specify which leads they favored: that of an assassination, a technical problem or a human error. Ukraine and the West are moving towards revenge on the Kremlin, a thesis rejected by Moscow.
