Picking frozen apples at Domaine Lafrance

After a three-year hiatus, frozen apple picking is back at Domaine Lafrance. For the pleasure of young and old, this popular and free family activity will take place this weekend as well as January 27 and 28.

Winter harvesting allows the company to produce its Cuvée Spéciale ice cider, using sections of orchard kept intact in the fall.

As a bonus, people can enjoy the orchard and walk there on snowshoes or on foot, take a guided tour of the cider house and distillery, enjoy marshmallows on the fire and hot drinks, grab a bite to eat at the bistro of the ‘place or even a pairing of three ciders and appetizers.

Owner Éric Lafrance will also host a workshop on ice cider on January 25 and 26 at a cost of $70.
