There are still six Grands Prix to go, but Max Verstappen did not want to prolong the suspense. Double reigning world champion, the Dutchman officially won a third consecutive coronation, Saturday October 7, during the sprint race of the Qatar Grand Prix. The Dutch driver, who started in third position on the starting grid, gained one place at the finish (2nd), only ahead of the young Oscar Piastri (McLaren).
Sergio Pérez (Red Bull), the only driver able to delay his teammate’s coronation, retired on the 11th lap, sealing the fate of this one-sided season, during which Max Verstappen crushed the competition. Relive the sprint race.
