[Photos] The 60 years of the Renault 4 on the Champs-Élysées

It was in 1961 that the Renault 4 was introduced. A predecessor of the Twingo, it is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

For the occasion, The Car Guide came to L’Atelier Renault which befits at 53 avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris.

Inside the walls of what is far from an ordinary dealership were a few versions of this popular French car. Among the models on display during our visit, note the presence of the Renault 4 Plein Air, the 4L Trophy, the Gendarmerie version, the AIR4 and the Concept Suite N ° 4. Not only is this an opportunity to see these exceptional vehicles up close, but in addition, they are highlighted in an environment that enhances the visual experience.

In addition to these models which aim to please the most nostalgic among us, two current SUVs (a Renault Captur plug-in hybrid and an Arkana hybrid) also took place in the showroom. The Alpine brand was not left out with the two examples of the superb A110 in addition to the A521 single-seater.

If other car manufacturers have already been present on the Champs-Élysées, Renault is now the only one to have its brand there. Founded over 110 years ago, the place located a stone’s throw from the Arc de Triomphe welcomes an average of 100,000 visitors every month. Although a restaurant has been found there for decades, it has been closed since the start of the pandemic and its reopening is unfortunately not part of the plans.

Notice to enthusiasts, L’Atelier Renault has a boutique where you can find a variety of scale models, clothing and accessories bearing the image of this brand with a rich past.
