A crime scene is still in progress near where a body was found, on the border between the Sainte-Foy-Sillery-Cap-Rouge sector and Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Sunday.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) and the Police Service are currently carrying out in-depth analyzes where the victim of a sordid murder was located. The body was apparently mutilated before being abandoned on the grounds of the ABC de l’Arbre company.

The latter specializes in felling, pruning, deforestation and pruning, according to what we can read on its website. The company is based in a remote area of Notre-Dame Avenue.
As of Monday morning, the identity of the victim was still unknown. An autopsy scheduled in the coming hours should help establish his identity and the cause of his death.

Ordinary neighbor
According to Kiliane Godin, a neighbor, the owner of the business is an ordinary neighbor.
“He’s our neighbor from behind. Not much is known about him; I don’t know him personally, but nothing suspicious ever happens there,” says the mother.
She and her daughter say they didn’t get much sleep last night after witnessing all the commotion surrounding the crime scene.

“It’s really terrible. You would never suspect that something like this could happen close to home. […] There were police everywhere and we really wonder what could have happened. It’s mysterious…”
Fifth homicide
This is the fifth homicide victim discovered in Quebec City since the start of the year, and the fourth since the start of the summer.

According to information collected by The newspaper, the event could be linked to organized crime. The victim would likely have been transported to the outskirts of Quebec after his death.

Three arrests were made in connection with the case, in Montérégie. A forensic identification team is also combing through a residence in Contrecoeur, on the south shore of Montreal.
